Competition project
Conceived by following the Master Plan of Kisho Kurogawa, where a structured city is also very organic, in this competition project the water provides different situations for citizens, creating not only a city of work but also a place of recreation surrounded by nature.
The concept consists in a complex of six buildings that resemble a sort of playing chess table – entailing the presence of two tall buildings, the king and the queen – and which have common elements. They articulate together in a harmonious ensemble, but each of them has its own singularity that perfectly identifies its function. The natural lighting of the spaces as well as the double-skin façade are the main features that support the sustainability of every construction by allowing a good climatic performance. The project concept, however, includes solar protection for the public spaces in order to avoid overheating of the ground level and a green area that provides the creation of a natural ecosystem around the buildings
