The new complex in Cascina Merlata envisages the construction of a new school complex for 700 students comprising a nursery, primary and junior high school. Designed by Onsitestudio, the building is characterised by great permeability between indoor and outdoor environments, guaranteed by large windows and a system of internal courtyards.

Sustainability was placed at the centre of the design in order to ensure maximum comfort for the students: the project is inspired by the Nearly Zero Energy Building philosophy, which requires the school building's energy consumption to be reduced to a minimum.
